Atomic Bomb
The atomic bomb was built by a group of scientists that joined together in the United States to form the Manhattan project. The Manhattan project was led by Major General Leslie R. Groves. The bomb was designed, created, and tested in 14 different cities, but most of the project sites were in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Los Alamos, New Mexico, Chicago Illinois, and Hanford, Washington. Many raw materials such as plutonium, silver, copper and uranium. Before the atomic bomb was sent off and deployed in Japan it was tested in Los Alamos, New Mexico to test if it would work, the type of effect it would have and the extent of the destruction it would display. After being tested the USAAF modified the B-29 bomber to be specifically able to carry the atomic bomb.
